Grace is a beautiful girl. She wasn’t blessed with a big fluffy coat, but she has beautiful natural ears, a gorgeous head and an exquisite collie expression. She got her name through prayer! I thought her mother had finished whelping her puppies and had them all cleaned up and good to go. However, I was wrong and when I went back into the whelping room to check on the puppies I found Grace, still in the sac, under her mothers tail. She was almost colorless. I worked on her frantically for twenty minutes with no response. Then I decided to cut the umbilical cord to get the placenta out of my way and when I cut the cord, she gasped! I couldn’t believe it. It was at least another full minute before she took a second breath and I was rubbing her chest and praying fervently! Finally (slowly) she began breathing and after awhile she was fine. I thought she was the prettiest puppy in the litter and so I kept her. I love seeing her face every day!
