Myriah’s Blowin’
In The Wind |
|||
Due to a variety of circumstances, I became co-owner of a bitch by the name of Myriah’s Windflower (Posy) who was owned by Mary Benjamin of Twin Oaks Collies and had been co-owned by my friend, Alison Peters. Posy was a Ch. Twin Oaks Joker’s Wild daughter and, when she came in season, Mary wanted to breed her back to her sire. That same breeding had produced Ch. Twin Oaks Sobriquet and, would produce my first champion, Ch. Posy’s Legacy O’Heather Hill. She was a beautiful puppy with a gorgeous face. I handled her myself while she was a puppy and she always placed in her class, but she didn’t pick up any points and Mary suggested that I put her out with a handler by the name of Bertha Garrison (Bandor Collies). Margaret did very well with Bertha and her second week-end out with her Margaret went Winner Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed under breeder/judge George Horn (Gingeor Collies) at the Presque Isle Collie Club show for a 5 point major! It wasn’t long after that before she became a champion. Unfortunately, she only had one litter of puppies. They were sired by a dog by the name of I’M Twin Oaks Law And Order. I kept a puppy bitch out of the litter and she became Heather Hill Her Highness (Jasmine). Jasmine had two litters, both sired by my dog “Marty” – Ch. Heather Hill Back To The Future, and daughters from those breedings went on to produce several of my current breeding stock and show dogs.
